SoftKinetic, a Belgian provider of 3D gesture recognition software, has announced that Tim Droz has been hired as its new vice president of North American Operations. Droz will run the company’s expansion into the U.S. and Canada from SoftKinetic’s new office in Sunnyvale, California.
“Tim Droz was a natural choice to lead our expansion into North America, with his extensive knowledge of the 3D gesture recognition industry,” said Michel Tombroff, chief executive officer, SoftKinetic. “With Tim leading the charge in Sunnyvale, we can jumpstart our U.S. presence and continue to be at the forefront of gesture recognition worldwide.”
Droz comes to the company after ten years at Canesta as the vice president of Platform Engineering and the head of the Entertainment Solutions Business unit.
“SoftKinetic has by far the most promising Time-Of-Flight technology on the market,” said Tim Droz. “I am extremely impressed by the level of maturity of the DepthSense hardware, which perfectly complements iisu, the most advanced gesture recognition middleware available.”
The new headquarters for SoftKinetic will handle all sales and marketing in the North America region.
