Recent reports stated that Will Wright was going to be working on a user-interactive TV show called The Creation Project and now it seems he will most definitely be involved in television production of some kind. The Hollywood Reporter says that the creator of Spore has signed a development deal with Science Channel to produce programming for the network.
"I want to take the way he engages an audience in gaming and bring that into a show," Science Channel GM Debbie Myers said.
Wright will create both series and specials for Science that explore topics like time travel, different worlds and the future, all with online and interactive components. This complement's Myers' strategy to give the network more shows that focus on creativity, rather than just science-based content .
"Gaming is a rich and compelling way to tell a great story," Wright said. "I am so excited to bring that mind-set to TV projects."
