Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is the third straight game in the series to be developed outside of Japan. The latest edition of the horror franchise released to mostly positive reviews in December, and the developers at Climax Group have indicated that they would be inclined to produce a sequel.
"We've always loved working on the series," said Shattered Memories lead designer Sam Barlow to ONM. "Since Origins we've spent a lot of time with the series. For us we felt we've put our stamp on the series with Shattered Memories so we'd love the opportunity to do another one. So everybody go and buy it!"
"I think this is the first Silent Hill since one or two where people are saying it has its own identity and people are responding to it really well so it would be great to take that further," added game director Mark Simmons.
Climax Group is responsible for Silent Hill: Origins for PS2 and PSP along with Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for Wii with ports to PS2 and PSP (Silent Hill: Homcoming was made by Double Helix Games for the PS3, PC and Xbox 360). While Climax may be inclined to do a sequel, that assumes that Konami does not make a negative ruling on the Wii the way that Ubisoft, Capcom and Sega have.
