The release of Sega’s Vanquish, the high-speed, drifting, third-person shooter, marked the end of a four-game deal between Sega and Platinum Games signed in 2008. The deal resulted in MadWorld, Infinite Space, Bayonetta, and Vanquish; all critically-acclaimed titles that haven’t necessarily performed as well retail-wise. In the most recent issue of Game Informer, Sega of America VP of sales Alan Pritchard confirmed that the contract would be extended for at least one more title.
"We have a further title to announce from Platinum Games," he said. No other information on the project was given.
Speculation on the title is almost useless as all of Platinum’s games have little in common.
