Scrolls: Mojang Wins Injunction Against Bethesda

Posted October 18, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Swedish developer Mojang Specifications has won the right to continue calling its upcoming title Scrolls, at least temporarily.  Minecraft creator and Mojang head Markus Persson revealed in a tweet that the studio won a temporary injunction against Elder Scrolls: Skyrim publisher Bethesda Softworks.

“We won the interim injunction! We can keep using the name ‘Scrolls’. ZeniMax/Bethesda can still appeal the ruling, but I'm very happy," wrote Persson.

Bethesda can still move the case forward to trial, but this marks an early win for Mojang.
