The Beatles: Rock Band took the industry by storm in September, giving Beatlemania new life it seems. The Beatles are a tough act to follow, but you can bet that Harmonix and MTV Games are planning a new Rock Band game devoted to yet another iconic band. The next band, it would appear according to this interview, is going to be The Who.
When asked about The Beatles: Rock Band, Lead vocalist Roger Daltrey commented, "The game, yeah, yeah, they're going to be doing a Who one next year. There is one planned. (The idea) is fabulous. Anything that gets non-musical people interested in music is wonderful. In my opinion, music is our last true great freedom. They can burn our books, they can burn our paintings, but they can't stop us singing and making music."
The Who already have a good relationship with MTV and Harmonix, as many of their songs have been featured in previous Rock Band games (or DLC), and the band made a special appearance to play at a Rock Band event during E3 in Los Angeles a couple years ago (which this editor had the privilege of attending). Other huge bands rumored for their own Rock Band games include U2 and Queen.
