Rock Band 3 Re-Release Coming Courtesy Of Mad Catz

Posted August 12, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Mad Catz has announced that it will be re-releasing Harmonix’s Rock Band 3 this holiday season.  The game was originally published by MTV Games, but now that Harmonix and MTV have parted ways Mad Catz has decided to carry the torch.  The company plans to bundle the game with its Rock Band 3-branded Keyboard, Stratocaster Guitar, and Fender Mustang Pro Guitar wireless controllers.

“We are pleased to assume publishing responsibilities for Rock Band 3 this holiday season. Rock Band is the ultimate interactive experience for any music fan, whether they’re looking for a great party game to share with friends, playing through Rock Band’s 3000 plus song library, or seeking out a fun way to learn guitar, drum or keyboard skills using Rock Band 3’s PRO Mode,” said Mad Catz CEO Darren Richardson.

It’s good to see Harmonix take Rock Band 3 out from under the shadow of MTV Games, and I look forward to seeing where they take the brand in the future.
