Resident Evil Game Coming From SOCOM Developers?

Posted November 2, 2010 by M.H. Williams

Though the architect of Capcom’s Western developer outsourcing strategy may be gone, Capcom is still keen on farming out their biggest titles to smaller studios. A document acquired by Kotaku seems to point to a new Resident Evil title being created by SOCOM developer Slant Six Games. Slant Six did the grunt work on the PlayStation 3’s SOCOM: Confrontation, in addition to Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3 for PSP.

The document points to a team-based Resident Evil title, which sounds right up the studio’s alley. The rumored title is Resident Evil: Raccoon City.

In early March, the company was hiring for a Japanese interpreter. Its current website also list the studio as working on an "an amazing new project" with a “new publishing partner on a world class franchise."

Will this new title be a spin-off, like Survivor, Dead Aim, Outbreak, or Umbrella Chronicles? Or is this the next proper Resident Evil being shopped out to another studio, like the upcoming DmC: Devil May Cry by Ninja Theory?
