Capcom recently made it clear that they intend to significantly reduce the time between releases in their major franchises. Capcom’s global head of production Keiji Inafune wants to ensure that this goal is met by fast-tracking Resident Evil 6 to store shelves as soon as possible.
Speaking to Spanish website 3Djuegos (via NeoGAF), Inafune expressed the desire to bring Resident Evil to the consumer as quickly as possible. "Given the great success which led to us Resident Evil 5, we want Resident Evil 6 to hit the market as soon as possible," Inafune said. "In fact, Capcom will have news about this soon..."
The only confirmed news about the next game in the series is that Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi will not be returning to take on Resident Evil 6. With the Tokyo Game Show just around the corner, the news might come sooner than imagined.
