Report: Steven Spielberg Interested in Halo Movie

While the Halo movie in its old form, produced by Peter Jackson, is now dead it seems as though it might be resurrected by another legendary Hollywood personality. IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg is currently considering developing a movie based around the Halo property. Given Spielberg's recent ties to Microsoft (he promoted Project Natal on stage at E3), this doesn't surprise us.

The director of E.T. and Indiana Jones was apparently impressed by writer Stuart Beattie's (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) script Halo: The Fall of Reach. Dreamworks, which is partially owned by Spielberg, is also looking for a large property to help launch their newly independent studio

We'd believe that if Spielberg was attached to the project there's a good chance it could maturate into a movie, given his track record. We'll be interested to see what director and actors would come onto a Halo film if Spielberg is indeed involved.

Hey, I got a better idea then getting Steven Spielberg to direct it.

We need someone with years of experience in handling game-to-film translations.

Someone that has worked on several titles on the above category, even produced a sequel to his work!!

Someone that has won awards!!

That someone to direct the next Halo film is Uwe Boll.

That won't work. Uwe's plate is full with his upcoming director duties for the Metal Gear Solid and Legend of Zelda movies.

WHAT you got to be kidding me right, UWE freakin BOLL. come on
We want this movie to be good remember

anyway...characters will be hard to fit if they redo the Halo game story...but if they go on like after or before the halo games then i don't think that would be a problem...they could even not have Master chief, because Halo is not about him but the war
