Report: Natal Launching November 2010 for Under $100

Posted November 11, 2009 by David Radd

While we know that Microsoft is going to make a heavy push for their Natal device, other details have been elusive so far. MCV, however, says that they've received details from a closed-door series of meetings Microsoft is conducting with developers and publishers in the U.K.

Sources say that Natal will launch in November 2010, with five million of the peripherals being made available for launch both in console bundles and sold individually. 14 titles are currently in the works for Natal's launch.

Most tellingly, sources indicate that Natal will be priced between 30 – 50 British pounds ($50 - $82). One publishing source indicated that Microsoft is “trying to get as close as possible to impulse buy.” It's worth noting that this squares up with analyst Michael Pachter's prediction that Natal would retail for just $50.

While it's still unknown what games are coming to the device, it is known that Rare is very active in its Natal development.

$50-$80 is a lot better than the $200 that Michael Pachter is predicting (Pachter is wrong most of the time anyways).
