Report: Larger DSi Coming to Japan

Posted October 26, 2009 by David Radd

While the DSi originally released internationally in April 2009, Nintendo is already planning a follow up of a sort. The Nikkei news service [thanks Kotaku] says that Nintendo is planning to create a DSi which will be purposefully larger than older models.

This new DSi will have all the the functionality of the smaller DSi units, but will have a 4" screen compared to the 3.25" screen that current DSi units have. This version of the console will be designed for older audiences so they can better read text on the screen. Currently, this version of the DSi is only slated for release in Japan.
