Report: Bethsoft Injunction Against Interplay Denied

Posted December 11, 2009 by David Radd

Earlier this year, Bethsoft sued Interplay for breach of contract and trademark infringement, attempting to get an injunction against the sale of the older Fallout titles (among other things). According to a post on Duck and Cover, this injunction has been denied by a Maryland court.

“Plantiff’s motion for a preliminary injunction… IS, DENIED for the reasons stated in court,” reads the court order.

This will allow Interplay to sell its old Fallout titles and continue working on its Project: V13 MMORPG. While this is a minor victory for Interplay, it will ultimately prove insignificant if Bethsoft wins the court battle to sever the Fallout license from the company which sold the IP in 2007.

Hmmm... I didn't even know Interplay still made games. Well then guys since you're still around you might as well put Boogerman and ClayFighter on PSN and or (preferably, since I have those for my Genesis) make some Downloadable Sequels.
