Report: 'Activision Received Little to no Compensation' in Brutal Legend Settlement

Posted August 7, 2009 by David Radd

Yesterday, news broke that the lawsuit over Brutal Legend between Double Fine and Activision was settled.  While the terms of the agreement weren't revealed, the LA Times is citing an anonymous source close to the case and indicated that the end result of the dueling lawsuits didn't favor Activision.

"Though the person declined to disclose any details of the settlement, it appears very likely that Activision received little to no compensation from Double Fine and agreed to a settlement to avoid losing its case in open court," reads the LA Times.

This revelation is congruent with the recent story that said that the judge on the case was not inclined to delay the release of Brutal Legend. Without the threat of delaying the game, the teeth of Activision's litigation were mostly removed, probably leaving them more apt to settle rather than waste more time and effort in a legal battle that didn't seem to favor them anyway.

The people of Brutal Legend should sue Activision for wasting their time and for being stupid on this.

If you can sue a ham sandwich for not having ham, then you can sue Activision for this.

If you can sue McDonalds for spilling McDonalds coffee on yourself, and sue McDonalds because the coffee was, and get this, HOT, then you can sue Activision for this.

America is the land of the free, where dreams are made, and where people sue each other.

Sue Activision for wasting your time.
