Remedy: Alan Wake on PC Up to Microsoft

Posted July 15, 2009 by David Radd

Recently, Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake indicated that the Xbox 360 was the lead platform for Alan Wake and that the game's PC release would only happen after they "evaluate the situation." This caused a lot of curious queries to the developer asking for a clarification, to which they responded with the statement below.

"Thank you for your continued interest in Alan Wake," read Remedy's response. "It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox 360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it's safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher."

So there you have it: Microsoft is stacking the deck in favor of their own console over PCs, just like we said in a recent op-ed.
