Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption, which won Game of the Year at Spike's VGAs and has garnered six nominations at the Game Developers Choice Awards, leads all finalists for the 14th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAAs), held at the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas on February 10.
Red Dead Redemption is up for nine different awards, including Game of the Year, Action Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, and more. Several other titles also earned multiple nods. There were six nominations for both ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West and God of War III, five nominations for Call of Duty: Black Ops, Heavy Rain, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Mass Effect 2, and four nominations for Dance Central, LIMBO and Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty.
"2010 saw many great achievements in interactive entertainment," said Martin Rae, president, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. "The Academy is continually impressed by the quality of games and creativity that are put forth each year from the men and women of this medium. Great games are found everywhere - this year's nominations illustrate the depth and breadth of our game experience for titles from core consoles, browsers and personal entertainment devices like the iPhone."
The complete list of finalists is available here (in pdf format).
The IAAs will once again be hosted by "comedian, actor and proud game enthusiast," Jay Mohr, who is coming back for his sixth year as host. Additionally, for those unable to attend, this year's IAAs will be broadcast on G4 with a one-hour special to air on Saturday, February 12th at 4pm ET / PT. There will also be a live same-day webcast of the IAAs in its entirety on G4tv.com/DICE at 7:30pm PT / 10:30pm ET.
