During his keynote speech at Quakecon 2010, id Software's John Carmack revealed that Rage, which is perhaps the last new IP from id Software for the next decade or so, would be released for the iPhone.
The game was demonstrated running at 60 frames-per-second and Carmack boasted that it will be able to “kill anything done on the Xbox or PlayStation 2.”
Rage for iPhone shows off the id Tech 5 engine, an engine that shows perhaps some of the best tech ever seen for the device. The first Rage game is intended to be a small “show-off” game, with a larger game due out next year to coincide with the release of the big game’s release.
