Today, id Software and Bethesda Softworks announced that Quake Live TV will be providing live coverage of Quake Live tournaments at Quakecon 2010. Quake Live TV, a community-run broadcasting organization, will be running live from the event on August 12-15 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
Quakecon remains free to the public, and offers a chance for fans to see the world’s greatest Quake players compete player vs player. Participants will be fighting over $50,000 in prize money. High tier players will compete in the Intel-sponsored Quake Live Masters Championship and the Quake Live Capture the Flag Championship, while neophytes will fight it out in the Quake Live Open Tournament. Quake Live TV will be providing complete coverage for all events.
The Quake Live Masters Championship will be hosted by James Harding and Joe Miller, both world-renowned eSports commentators, while Quake Live TV commentators Steve “GreasedScotsman” Huff and Alex “Jehar” Popa will be covering the rest of the tournament events.
Attendees of the con can experience the entire thing in an all-new 250 seat tournament arena. Remote viewers can catch the live broadcast of the Quake Live Masters Championship here, with supplementary content syndicated here.
