The results are in, and Enterbrain has released the sales results for the PSPgo in Japan. The portable system sold 28,275 units during its first day of availability, bringing the region's PSP sales up to 12.7 million.

Andriasang says that the Japanese launch was supported with titles like Persona 3 Portable, Dissidia Final Fantasy Universal Tuning, Disgaea Infinite and LocoRoco Midnight Carnival. The site notes that most hardware re-releases in Japan launched on Saturday rather than Sunday, making comparisons difficult. Over its first two days of availability, the DSi sold 170,000 units while the PSP-3000 sold 140,000 units in its first four days.

Conflicting reports have come out about the PSPgo since it has released, with Sony claiming an uptick in sales in the U.K. and elsewhere, while other parties have indicated that the system is underperforming. One retail director said the system is '99.9 Percent Sure to Fail Miserably.'
