The news had been rumored before, but now it's official: the PSP Minis program is coming to PS3. A new post on the European PlayStation blog reveals that firmware version 3.15 will be coming "soon" and will introduce an emulator for the console that will enable PS3 owners to play the downloadable bite-sized games for PSP called "Minis."
"If you buy a minis game from the 17th [of December] it will work on both platforms so if you have a PS3 and a PSP you will only need to buy it once and it will be available to download to your PS3 and your PSP," Sony stated. "If you have already bought a mini for PSP and want to get it on your PS3 as well, just go to your download list in the Store and download it again for free. The game will then work on your PS3 as well. Simple!"
The announcement is for the European audience, but we'd assume that U.S. PS3 owners will be getting the emulator feature as well. PS3s in the U.S. are currently up to system software version 3.10.

They probably did this because the PSP Go is bombing in every region and are trying to do whatever they can to buy one (which won't work, it's more expensive than the other PSP's but are worse in almost every way).
