PSA: Please Help Haiti's Earthquake Victims

Posted January 13, 2010 by James Brightman

As you all no doubt know, earlier this week the nation of Haiti was absolutely devastated by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, which is believed to have killed at least 50,000 people, and some on the scene think the casualties could be as high as 100,000.

The Red Cross is contributing an initial $1 million from the International Response Fund to support the relief operation, but much more is needed. It's believed that about a third of Haiti's nine million people are in need of aid. We know that our fellow gamers and many of you in the game industry are generous and caring people, so we'd encourage you to donate whatever you can to help these afflicted earthquake victims.

You can donate online at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767). For those of you who like texting, you can also text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross. UNICEF is another option - you can donate for the emergency response fund here
