PS3 Primed to Overtake 360 in 2 Years, says Analyst

According to a huge (20000+ respondents) survey that gameinformer did there were a significant number of people who bought a second xbox360 to replace a broken one. Over 6 million of the xbox360 units sold are replacements (as of a year ago, more by now). The PS3 installed user base has already surpassed that of the xbox360 so who cares about total sales of consoles that are loss-leaders when the number of users who can buy the games to make the console companies their money is already bigger on the PS3....

Yeah right dude!!! For every game that is out on Both PS3 and the 360, Look at THOSE numbers.

The Xbox versions of the games almost ALWAYS outsell the PS3 by quite huge margins. The only exception I can think of is the latest Final Fantasy.

I own both myself, but the Xbox versions most often than not have the better quality.

The NPD numbers is what I think you are referring to Tony. Those numbers are only in the US. In Japan the PS3 has outsold the X360 by millions, and in Europe the PS3 is also ahead. The US is the only territory where the PS3 is running 3rd in, so the NPD numbers from the US aren't indicative of the worldwide market.

Man I would normally not get caught saying the phrase "who cares" but I'm tempted! I will not say it BUT, In two years we will be talking about the abilities of miithree!, and Nextbox, and PS4MORE, not if Sony can pass xbox360. More importantly developers will be deciding who has the cost edge, and new generation excitement that will translate into install base, and price per machine, in order to allocate MORE resources. I say more because they are already developing for the next machines without knowing the final specs, just like they did for this and the last generation of machines.

Karl the xbox360 has had a three year warranty so why would 6 million people not just use the warranty? My two friends that did have a problem used the warranty. One is a pip fitter making 40$ a hour the other is a software developer making over 75k a year, and even they make more than the average Joe. Game informer is full of Microsoft, and Sony fanboys that like to take surveys! I remember the HUGH percent in a Game informer survey that ask xbox users if they where going to bye Halo3. It said only a small percent of people where planning to purchase it! Turned out 40% did! Halo3 proceeded to break the sales record. Fan boys vote in game trailer, and make things look bad, all kinds of review sites, if a fan boy has access they will put there two cents in.

In EUROPE the PS3 is not ahead, in SONY's version of EUROPE PS3 is ahead! RUSSIA AND AFRICA, AND south America are not EUROPE Sony throws country's (and CONTENANTS) into there EUROPE numbers which is dis honest. And when asked why Sony give the reason as: they have always done it that way. Sony has a few games that are on both platforms that look better, example Oblivion, (it had a extra 14 months development), and a few more. But I would say 19 out of 20 look better on xbox360 and have twice the frame rate than on the PS3. But it still looks good on the PS3 so play up.

PS3 and 360 will both be dead in 2 years, *cough* new platform in the works and its not PS4, media lying their asses off as usual making this out to be bigger than it really is
