PS3 Finally Getting Dance Dance Revolution

Posted August 3, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Konami revealed today, in a rather unconventional way, that the popular Dance Dance Revolution franchise would indeed be released on the PlayStation 3.

Posting from their own Facebook fan page, Konami has announced the game, along with an invitation for fans to join them at a launch party on August 12. “Yes, Dance Dance Revolution fans, it’s true—we’re bringing DDR to the PS3! And we’re bringing YOU to the launch party. Thursday evening, August 12, in LA. Join us in person, on Twitter, or on Facebook for exclusive, interactive, fan-friendly, multiplayer Music & Motion fun. Stay tuned for more exciting details."

Konami has not given any information as to specifics for the game or a release date at this time. What will perhaps be more interesting is to see if Harmonix eventually brings Dance Central (a 'killer app' for Kinect) to the PS3 and PlayStation Move.

This game had a page on Amazon since like 2009. I guess they finally feel like they can make a profit with the PS3 crowd.
