PopCap Games today revealed the results of a social gamers survey. Nearly a quarter of 5,000 respondents said they play social games on platforms like Facebook and MySpace. Interestingly, the survey indicates that average social gamer is a 43-year-old woman.
The survey was conducted for both Americans and Brits; in the U.S., 55 percent of all social gamers are female and 45 percent are male, with the U.K. disparity growing to 58 percent to 42 percent. In age matters, social gamers in the U.S. are on average 48 years old compared to 38 for those based in the U.K. while 46 percent of American social gamers are 50 or older, contrasting to to just 23 percent in the U.K. Social gamers that are age 21 or younger only make up six percent of the total social gamer population.
