PopCap Games and Nexon America, two leading developers of free-to-play online games, today revealed a partnership with Sometrics to utilize the company’s full-service offer and payment management system in certain titles. Through Sometrics, players will be able to complete targeted offers to earn virtual currency in their favorite free-to-play games. By participating in customer surveys, subscriptions, and purchase offers with trusted brands such as AT&T, Netflix, and Disney, players can receive premium game items without spending any money.
"Sometrics couldn't be happier lending our proven skill sets in offer-based solutions to the massive audiences behind the free-to-play games of Nexon and PopCap, and we're sure their players will enjoy an easy, convenient way to earn in-game currency for free," said Sometrics CEO Ian Swanson. "The Sometrics Offer Solution platform is built for optimization, so we can deliver a variety of offers in the most efficient and effective way possible."
Nexon, developers of MapleStory and Mabinogi, looks forward to the opportunities Sometrics will provide players. "Sometrics gives our players a way to earn currency through high-quality offers from trusted brands, so they can continue to advance in their favorite games for free," said Nexon America Vice President of Business Development, Won Il Sue.
PopCap has already implemented the service in their Facebook social title, Bejeweled Blitz with offers from Microsoft, Netflix, and Disney. "We're excited about the revenue potential from Sometrics' Offer Solution," said Michael Carpenter, vice president of social games at PopCap. "This is an intriguing and potentially valuable partnership for us and a rewarding alliance for our customers."
Sometrics said that use of its Offer Solution and Payment Manager has resulted in an average lift of 15% revenue for partners, strong leads for advertisers, and an extension of free-to-play gaming for players. The company added that it has a global reach of more than 4,000 ads across hundreds of games, and achieves effective cost per thousand impressions (eCPM) as high as $700-$900.
