Bolt Creative announced today that its best-selling god simulator, Pocket God, has sold over three million units since release on iPhone. Bolt is particularly proud of the milestone saying, “If you were to lay down three million great white sharks (with freaking laser beams of course) from nose to tail, they’d stretch from New York to London and back.” These sales numbers come just days after Bolt Creative released the new Pocket God comic, the first issue in a four-issue miniseries.
“We can’t thank the fans enough for all their support, enthusiasm, fan sites, YouTube videos, suggestions for content, and everything else,” said Bolt Creative CEO Dave Castelnuovo. “Since day one we’ve embraced our community and we’re ecstatic to see that feeling reciprocated. We’ll continue to push Pocket God into new realms and keep giving the legions of PG fans out there more tools to become great deities. Deities great at offing the little islanders that is!”
Pocket God began as a week-long pet project for Dave Castelnuovo and Allan Dye, but was a runaway success at release. Since then, the sandbox game has had 30 free updates with new islands, new minigames, and new ways to silence pygmies. The title remains in the Top 50 Paid Apps on the iTunes App Store.
