PlayStation Vita Hits 500,000 Sold, Netflix is Coming

Posted January 10, 2012 by M.H. Williams

At the Sony CES 2012 press conference last night, executive deputy president Kaz Hirai revealed that the PlayStation Vita has sold 500,000 units in Japan.  The portable hit that number three weeks after its launch; in contrast, the Nintendo 3DS sold 500,000 units by end of its second week.

Hirai added that Netflix is coming to the Vita, with the company “working towards” a launch on Day 1.  Sony’s Music Unlimited will also be a service available on the portable at launch.
