It's no secret that third-party publishers have had difficulties courting the core audience on the Wii. Still, that hasn't stopped some genuinely good titles from releasing on the system and MadWorld director Shigenori Nishikawa looks at the bright side for Platinum Games' Wii title, which sold in a disappointing fashion but was generally well received by critics.
"I think MadWorld was very well received and was acknowledged for its innovative graphical style and gameplay,” said Nishikawa to ONM. “We would definitely be interested in making a sequel in the future."
When asked about the tribulations of creating a mature title for the Wii, Nishikawa responded that it is "a very well-balanced piece of hardware."
Platinum, just like High Voltage Software with The Conduit, may be interested in doing a sequel, but the feeling does not appear to be reciprocated by their publisher. A Sega of America rep recently said that the company is “probably not” doing more mature titles on Wii.
