Obsidian Entertainment Wants to do Chrono Trigger

Posted July 6, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Obsidian Entertainment, developer to the uneventful Alpha Protocol  “spy-RPG,” has been talking with Square Enix about a possible Chrono Trigger title. For many, Chrono Trigger is right near the top of the list of all-time RPGs.  Obsidian has been in talks with Square Enix regarding a game in the near future.

“We were talking to Square for quite awhile,” says CEO Feargus Urquhart. “You make RPGs, we make RPGs, it would be great to see what we could do together. And they really wanted to start getting into Western RPGs. And, so it kind of all ended up fitting together.”

This would continue an ongoing relationship between Obsidian and Square, as Obsidian is currently working on reviving the Dungeon Siege series. Square Enix recently purchased the rights to the game from Gas Powered Studios last month.
