The Wii U has not been finalized as a system, but there were still third-party trailers shown off during Nintendo's press conference. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime explains [thanks GamesIndustry.biz] that there's a simple reason for that – those trailers used assets from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of those games.
"Absolutely," replied Fils-Aime when asked if the trailers came from other consoles. "Because we're talking a year away from when this system's going to launch."
GameTrailers' Geoff Keighley pressed Fils-Aime on how good the Wii U titles will look and if they will equal the PS3 and Xbox 360. "In terms of how good it looks it's going to be driven by what the individual developers do," he answered. "It's going to be 1080p, it's going to be high definition..."
"You're going to see games that take full advantage of a system that has the latest technology and can push out some incredible graphics," he added.
