Nintendo is gearing up to launch the much anticipated 3DS portable on February 26 in Japan, and the company said it will ship 1.5 million units through March (the end of its fiscal year) in Japan, and a total of 4 million worldwide. Over the weekend, Nintendo also revealed its Japanese launch lineup of 3DS games, with Nintendogs + Cats probably being the biggest standout of the group.

The Japanese 3DS launch lineup:

  • Battle of the Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (¥5,040)
  • Nintendogs+Cats (¥4,800)
  • Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle (¥5,980)
  • Puzzle Bobble 3D (¥4,980)
  • Ridge Racer 3D (¥6,090)
  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (¥4,800)
  • Samurai Warriors: Chronicle (¥6,090)
  • Winning Eleven Soccer 3D (¥5,800)

Nintendo also noted that the 3DS battery will last 3-5 hours during 3DS gameplay and 5-8 hours when playing original DS games. It will take about three and a half hours to fully charge the battery.
