Metroid fans are going to be disappointed to hear this: Nintendo has moved the release date for Metroid: Other M on Wii from June 27 to August 31. The game is a bit of a throwback to the classic 2-D Metroid games, but it also incorporates some of the gameplay from the 3-D Metroid Prime series developer by Retro. Notably, Nintendo is collaborating with Team Ninja on this project, so we're eager to see the finished product.
The other Wii game getting moved is Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, which had been planned for a June 7 release but now is scheduled for June 27. The game is in development by the shooter experts at Treasure and "features nonstop action with two playable characters and international online leaderboards to track high scores. Nintendo claims the Wii remote will provide "unprecedented precision in the shooter genre."
