While recently dismissing the iPad announcement from Apple, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata acknowledged that Nintendo's working on new hardware. During a symposium at the 13th Annual Japan Media Arts Festival on Saturday, legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto backed up Iwata's statement, confirming that Nintendo's currently working on new hardware.
It's not clear if he was referring to the rumored Wii HD, the rumored motion-sensing DS2, or something else entirely. We have a feeling that we'll be hearing something from Nintendo at E3 this year, if not before then at the Game Developers Conference in March.
Miyamoto also confirmed that he's working on another game (or games) to take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus attachment. From what we've been hearing, it's also possible that the new Zelda for Wii will require MotionPlus to be played.

This is great news in as much as it will help the industry gain the sales for its products rather than them being stolen.
However, I am slightly nervous about the machine having a built in SD card port, how long until that is exploited?
Also, the success of DSi itself is not guaranteed, are people really convince its significantly different from a DS to justify consumers upgrading?
