Nintendo Buys Up Mobiclip

Posted February 13, 2012 by M.H. Williams

Nintendo has acquired Mobiclip, a Paris-based provider of video compression technology.  The platform holder is planning to use the technology for upcoming titles for 3DS and Wii U.  Mobiclip has provided video tech for previous Nintendo platforms, including the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.

Nintendo acquired the company in October 2011, gaining Mobiclip’s offices in Tokyo, Singapore, and California.
