The Mobage Network is ngmoco’s answer to the rising tide of social gaming, and their latest partnership is giving access to the largest mobile network in the world. Mobage is already a major hit in Japan, with over 30 million users. The social gaming platform is host to first and third party titles
"Games are consistently among the most popular entertainment apps for smartphones," said AT&T vice president Ted Woodbery. "We are pleased to be the first U.S. wireless carrier to work with ngmoco and look forward to giving our Android customers access to the rich Mobage gaming catalog later this year."
AT&T has already unveiled a successful beta for the network, available to a vast number of English speaking countries.
"You can't ignore the sheer size that Android has now and will have in the future," said ngmoco’s Alan Yu. Yu believes that the Android market’s growth is spurring a major shift in the marketplace, enough to where Mobage feels the best chance at success.
"It's basically the size of the market, right? Our bet is that Mobage will be the consumers’ brand that people can go to to discover these games," he said.
