With San Diego Comic-Con in full swing, Activision announced today that Neil Patrick Harris would be returning to the booth to voice Spider-Man for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. The game involves Spider-Men across four different dimensions, with classic Spider-Man voice actors portraying each hero. Neil Patrick Harris will voice the classic Amazing Spider-Man, Josh Keaton will be playing the teenage Ultimate Spider-Man, Christopher Daniel Barnes is the dark Spider-Man Noir, and Dan Gilvezan is voicing the futuristic Spider-Man 2009.
Each of the voice actors has played Spider-Man in different animated shows over the past 29 years. Dan Gilvezan starred in “Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends” in 1981; Christopher Daniel Barnes was the wall-crawler in “Spider-Man” in 1994; Neil Patrick Harris voiced the character in the CGI “Spider-Man: The New Animated Series” in 2003; and Josh Keaton was a young Peter Parker in “The Spectacular Spider-Man” in 2008.
In addition, the legendary comic book creator Stan Lee will be the narrator of this dimension-spanning title. Jim Dooley, the Emmy Award-winning composer, will be creating an original score for the title.
The game will feature different gametypes across each dimension, including stealth action and God of War-style combat. The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii versions are being developed by Beenox, while Griptonite is handling the Nintendo DS version. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will be available September 7, 2010.
