NBA Dynasty Social Game Coming From Playdom

Posted April 19, 2011 by M.H. Williams

NBA Digital and Playdom today launched NBA Dynasty, a new Facebook title that will allow players to manage their own NBA dream team.  Gamers can choose from over 9,000 player seasons from 1946 to today.  NBA Dynasty will also feature more than 1,200 NBA video highlights from the recent NBA season.  Players can determine the outcome of games by changing their starting lineup, calling time-outs, and substituting players.

“With NBA Dynasty, we wanted to create a realistic coaching and managing experience while giving players the opportunity to build their ultimate fantasy team,” said Playdom’s Co-Chief Operating Officer, John Donham. “Players will finally find out if their childhood heroes can beat those of their friends.”

As the first title from Playdom based on a professional sports league, NBA Dynasty leverages the strong NBA social brand.  The NBA is the No.1 sports league on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube in the U.S.

“Social media takes sports gaming to new frontiers,” said Bryan Perez, senior vice president and general manager of NBA Digital.  “The combination of our industry leading social audience with Playdom’s social gaming expertise will give fans an entertaining new way to engage with the NBA.”
