The 2010 D.I.C.E. Summit will be held at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, February 17-19, 2010, and organizers continue to expand the lineup of speakers as we draw nearer to the event. Today the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) revealed several more presenters.
Joining the lineup are Richard Lemarchand, one of the key game designers at Naughty Dog who's helped develop both Uncharted and Uncharted 2; Brian Reynolds, chief creative officer at leading social games firm Zynga and formerly a strategy game designer for award winning, multi-million selling games Civilization 2: Rise of Legends and Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri; Mike Yuen, senior vice president content and services at Zeebo Inc; and David Gallo, director of special projects at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, and one of the first oceanographers to use submarines and robots to map the undersea world, as well as being part of the team that discovered and mapped the Titanic.
A special panel was also announced, headed by Kill Screen Magazine editor Jamin Brophy-Warren, and featuring Navid Khonsari, director, writer, producer on feature films, television series, documentaries, and video games, Manveer Heir, lead designer at Raven Software, and Dmitri Williams, assistant professor, USC’s Annenberg School, where he teaches courses on virtual community, new technology and video games.
The D.I.C.E. Summit will also feature the 13th annual Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony on February 18. Comedian, actor and gamer Jay Mohr will host the event for his fifth year, and the Independent Film Channel will be streaming the Awards, as well as filming the show for a TV broadcast to follow. It was previously announced that ESA founder Doug Lowenstein will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
