NaturalMotion, which licenses animation technologies euphoria, morpheme and endorphin to game and movie companies, today announced that its revenue for the first half of fiscal 2009 was up 80 percent, although the firm did not provide the exact dollar amount. The middleware provider pointed to "rapid adoption of its morpheme engine as well as strong euphoria revenues as the main factors."
"The first two quarters of our fiscal 2009 have exceeded our revenue and profitability expectations. We’re particularly pleased with the adoption rate of morpheme over the period, a testament to the product’s quality as well as the desire by publishers to put their games on solid, future-proof technology foundations,” commented Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion.
The company also noted that its staff count has risen to 70 people at this point. NaturalMotion has offices in Oxford, England (where it's headquartered) and San Francisco, California. NaturalMotion's euphoria real-time animation generator was used in Grand Theft Auto IVand Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and its morpheme engine has been licensed by Bioware, CCP, Disney, Eidos and more. The company is also still working on its first in-house IP Backbreaker, a football game that will showcase the euphoria and morpheme engines.
