Namco Bandai & DeNA Team Up For Mobile Titles

Posted August 22, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Mobile platform owner DeNA and publisher Namco Bandai Games have come together in a brand-new joint venture to create new social titles for mobile platforms.  The new company, BDNA, Inc, will start operations on October 1, 2011.  Namco Bandai Games is providing 75 percent of the initial $100 million in startup funding, with DeNA footing the rest of the bill.

Shin Unoaza, executive vice president of Namco Bandai, will head up the new company.  BDNA’s board will be comprised of members from both companies, including Isao Moriyasu and Keigo Watanabe of DeNA, and Namco Bandai’s Hirotaka Reizei and Hideyuki Okabayashi.

Namco Bandai and DeNA previously collaborated on Gundam Royale, a social game with more than 3 million players on DeNA’s Mobage network.
