Mythic Standing Tall Amidst Strife

Posted November 12, 2009 by David Radd

The recently announced layoffs of 1,500 EA employees were rumored to hit Mythic Entertainment particularly hard. This has been cause for concern for fans of the MMORPG maker's titles, but Mythic Entertainment Executive Producer Jeff Hickman made a post stressing his studio's dedication while not specifically addressing the issue of layoffs.

"At Mythic, we remain committed to our games and the passionate people who play them – we’re going to continue to deliver the content and service that keeps you playing," wrote Hickman. "We want to assure our community that we will maintain the same high level of customer support you’ve come to expect and continue to improve our games with an exciting schedule of patches, live events and new content."

He reiterated his company's support of Ultima Online, Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning adding, "Be sure to keep an eye open for more information about upcoming patches and the exciting plans we have in store for your favorite MMORPGs."

Trouble could be seen on the horizon at Mythic when General Manager Mark Jacobs stepped down and the studio was reorganized under BioWare.
