Multiverse Network Gets Shut Down

Posted January 4, 2012 by David Radd

The Multiverse Network, which was working on a series of licensed MMOs such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, has closed its doors after it “wasn't able to achieve a profitable business model” and “ceased operations in December 2011 due to lack of funding.”

While the company is going down, “a group of individuals is creating an online community to support developers who wish to continue using the Multiverse Platform. They are in the process of creating a non-profit foundation to take over support of the platform.”

This new project has been been created on SourceForge at sourceforge.net/projects/multiverse3d and the forums at multiverse.forumotion.co.uk will carry the latest information on this project.
