Today, LucasArts announced that the Monkey Island franchise will be making a return. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will release via Xbox Live Arcade and for PC, featuring revamped graphics and music with original voice work for this new version of the adventure game classic. Additionally, Telltale will be working on a new episodic series of Monkey Island adventure games, with the first episode launching for WiiWare and PC on July 7.
“We couldn’t be any more excited about bringing Monkey Island to today's gamers — both in our special edition of the original classic, and through our collaboration with Telltale on the episodic series,” said LucasArts’ President Darrell Rodriguez. “We can’t wait for Guybrush Threepwood and LeChuck to return to gamers’ screens.”
