Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven Software are furiously working to deliver the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise, and gamers are indicating that they cannot possibly wait any longer. News out of the U.K. now shows that pre-orders for the title are ‘significantly’ outpacing the numbers set by Black Ops not a year ago.
U.K. retailer Game now says that "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders are already tracking significantly ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops at the same time last year."
"We know that the Call of Duty brand and franchise has the most amazing fan-base and we’ve got some great surprises lined up for those who pre-order with us. We’re looking forward to an incredible launch on November 8."
Black Ops is the current sales record holder in the U.K., with Modern Warfare 2 preceding it. There is rather informed speculation that Modern Warfare 3 is more than likely going to be the next title that holds the crown.
