The NPD Group has released the list of the top selling titles for January 2012 in the U.S. and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues to be a force to be reckoned with, taking the top overall slot, and Battlefield 3 also continues to do well in the fifth spot. NBA 2K12 bounced up to the fourth spot, no doubt helped by the resumption of professional basketball in the U.S.
Skylanders is doing well even in the post-holiday period, which is no doubt encouraging to Activision. Just Dance 3 and Zumba Fitness 2: Party Yourself prove that dancing/fitness games are still popular. Finally, THQ can be proud that word of mouth brought Saints Row: The Third back into the 10 slot, despite whatever financial issues they are dealing with.
