Posted March 9, 2010 by David Radd

A report by by Gamesindustry.com and TNS revealed that 21 million Americans spend roughly $15 monthly on MMOs for a total of $3.8 billion in 2009, with 90 percent of the money spent online; 25 million Americans play without spending money. The U.K. is the highest spending European nation, but its total is just $270 million, followed closely by Germany with $250 million and France with $220 million.

"The market for MMO games definitely still has a lot of growth potential,” comments Klaas Kersting, CEO of Gameforge. “We were able to increase our revenue by 6261 percent over the past 5 years. Delivering long-term quality and depth are major success factors in expanding our player base. And it definitely works - with more than 100 million registered users, we are growing fast and expect to continue on this path."

I realize EA is churning out their sports games as if they are built by robots on a production line, but they are also hitting the mark pretty consistently with Woods. The addition of the Ryder Cup is definitely an intriguing feature, but then again I'm the kind of guy who watched all four days of Masters coverage in their entirety. It's a good rental, and I'll get my $10 of happiness out of it over 5 days. identity theft companies
