Miyamoto on Sony, MS Motion: Umm, Games?

Posted June 2, 2009 by James Brightman

In the recent Shigeru Miyamoto roundtable we just attended, Nintendo's biggest name had an issue with the motion technologies shown off by Sony and Microsoft at this year's E3.  When asked during the Q&A portion of the roundtable about what he thought about the competition now pushing motion sensing, Miyamoto answered honestly.

While not directly mentioning Sony and Microsoft, Miyamoto said that it isn't Nintendo's policy to showcase technology without first implementing it in actual games.  Basically, Nintendo is in the habit of announcing new technology once a game is created to show it off in a living room setting. He said it's hard to accurately judge Microsoft or Sony's motion-sensing without seeing real games that fully utilize the new technology.
