The staff at Midway Newcastle were working furiously on a new title called Necessary Force in order to help get the studio a buyer or an interested publisher. Today Develop reveals that their efforts were unfortunately futile, as Midway officially announced it was shuttering the branch this morning.
Midway CEO Matt Booty apparently told the team at Midway Newcastle himself. The HR department is working to expedite the insolvency and help the team look for work in the North East sector of England. Over 70 jobs were affected by this closing. The fate of Midway San Diego, the other studio not purchased during the recent Warner Bros. buyout, is still up in the air.
