E3: Microsoft Signs Activision to Call of Duty Exclusive

Posted June 14, 2010 by M.H. Williams

Today at their E3 press conference, Microsoft announced that they had signed an exclusive deal with Activision to put all Call of Duty content post Black Ops on Xbox first. This is a continuing trend over the past few years, with the Xbox 360 getting Call of Duty content and map packs prior to the PlayStation 3 as recently as Modern Warfare 2.

"When you want to play Call of Duty over the next few years, you'll want to play it on Xbox 360," Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Head Don Mattrick said at the conference.

The agreement will run until 2012. No timetable was announced between Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 content releases.
