The just released NPD data for the month of June has revealed that Microsoft's Xbox 360 slim console has indeed struck a chord with consumers. The company previously said that there's been "unprecedented demand" for the new console, and now we can see that sales jumped 88% for June, rising to 452,000 units sold.

Microsoft commented, "Retail demand for the new Xbox 360 250GB console remains high, and retailers continue to order as many units as Microsoft is able to supply. Collectively, Microsoft has also heard from retailers around the U.S. that Kinect and its related games are a top priority this holiday."

Microsoft added that the "increased console sales contributed to more than $333 million in total spend on Xbox 360 hardware, software and accessories in the month."
